HfH Supportive Housing supports diversity and inclusion in housing and supportive services programs. There is a GREAT need for ethnic personal hygiene and hair care products among our service population. In addition to our own residents, we partner with local schools in our service area, stocking ‘giving closets’ and helping low-income families meet an ongoing need by providing hygiene products and undergarments to underserved K-8 school children. Currently we have a need for FULL SIZE hygiene products and NEW clothing.
We are unable to take donations of used clothing at this time.
We are currently accepting the following items:
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Deodorant
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
- Bodywash and soap
- Feminine hygiene products
- Body lotions and oils
- Underwear/boxers (child/adult, M/F)
- Bras (child/adult)
- Undershirts (child/adult)
- Socks (child/adult)
Unsurprisingly, most of our clients exiting homelessness come into our programs with very little in the way of personal possessions or the comforts of home. We receive no grant funding to help residents with many of the material items they need, but thanks to generous donations from our community, we are able to supply basics (bedding, clothing, furniture etc.), and have an ongoing need for specific items to aid families coming out of homelessness, and support our Healing First program. We are unable to accept used items at this time.
We are currently accepting the following items:
- Throw rugs
- Bathroom sets (towels, washcloths, rugs, shower curtains, etc.)
- Flatware sets
- Cooking utensil sets
- Dish sets
- Dish detergent/sponges
- Cup/tumbler sets
- Pot/pan sets
- Fire Blankets/Fire Extinguishers
- First Aid kits
- Mixing bowls/Tupperware
- Laundry baskets
- Laundry detergent/fabric softener
- Cleaning supplies
- Brooms/dustpans
- Mops/buckets
- Trash Bags
- Toilet Paper
- Paper Towels
Please consider donating your gently used appliances in working condition. We have an ongoing need for the following:
- Washing machines and Electric dryers
- Refrigerators and Electric stoves
We are also in need of a 6’x8’ or 6’x12’ enclosed, towable trailer (8’ high).
